Maybelline rapes Regina Spektor

Dream Satin Liquid Foundation from Maybelline

I have no problem with this advert (except that I still find it odd that women paint their faces) and I swear I am not picking on Maybelline (I wrote a post a while back about Reece Wetherspoon and Maybeline) but for such a large company you would think that they would just pay the money and buy the rights to use On The Radio by Regina Spektor, rather than making a piss poor Poundstretcher version which could be confused with some one smacking a piano with a fish whilst wailing at the same time.

Howdy folks, the names David, its lovely to meet you. I hope the weather is shinny where ever you are. There are a number of things I love to do with my day, writing here is one, writing for 69 magazine is another as well as delving my nose into a good book, listening to woman sing along to electro beats and playing computer games of all shapes and sizes. I knew it was her.... I would hear the beginning of this ad, get a little excited, and think "That sounds like On the Radio, but noooo.. it doesn't." and then "Why??"

It's like those new Comcast commercials that are ripping off Kimya Dawson..

    bleh.
  • Comcast advert? post a link to it and we will feature!
  • I completely agree! You're the only person on the internet who has actually noticed this according to Google. I'm half tempted to write to Regina - she must be livid. It's a SHITE version too :-(. I just saw the ad now and was nearly sick! Hear hear!
