When I was in school I read a version of Macbeth about youth football. Toying with existing works is exactly what Shakespeare did when he wrote the thing, so what's the problem? Apparently in the same debate the parliament people were talking about a childrens book with 2 male penguins looking after a baby penguin, awwww and yaaaay i'm not sure the tragic story of 'romeo and julian' is the best way to present such issues to children, but at least they're not sugarcoating it.
