The Ting Tings live at The Venue Leicester
It makes me sad that I could sum up this hour and half of my life in one scentence, ‘over whelmingly average’ or I could go for ‘I might as well sat at home and listened to their album really loud.’ The arrogance of The Ting Tings is one of the reasons these guys are more than likely going to be a one hit wonder. Not only on stage (really man Ting take of your sunglasses, you are no way as cool or as inventive as The Pet Shop Boys, for the love of christ stop trying to be them) but also back stage as Mrs. Ting complained to all the would listen that people were taking too many photographs of her. I do love celebrity types who get above themselves.
I have been to a number of concerts in my time and the best ones have always been when the music has been changed and adapted for a live audience. Alphabeat were incredible example of this, weaving in a huge thank you to their fans into a rather brave and emotional moment in 10, 000 nights of thunder, Goldfrapp as well go out of their way to adjust tracks so the audience are getting some thing new and not just the album on shuffle.
But well done Leicester Uni Students Union for booking such a current band for their freshers, fingers crossed B*witched next week are better.
