Mark’s Mucho Media Montage
Howdy Bambinos,
I thought seeing as my posts don’t really fit into a single category I could have the vague topic of ‘media’. So in this weekly roundup I’ll have a look at the great, the good, the bad, the ugly and the queen of the week’s media. If your royal readerness enjoys this format for my column then I shall continue, if not I shall change til we’re all happy
The Great – Merlin
I hope we all remember ‘Jethro’ from the ‘Midnight’ episode of Doctor Who last series. Coz just recently we’ve been seeing teaser trailers on BBC1 for ‘Merlin’ featuring the lovelyness that is Colin Morgan as a beautiful young wizard. Unfortunately, without his Irish accent, boooooo. No evidence yet of an owl called ‘Archimedes’, but check out Arthur! huzzah for totty

The Good – Adam Bouska’s Website
Adam Bouska is a brilliant young American fashion photographer, who seems to handpick his male models to make me salivate – a mixture of stunning models, great camera handling, stylish effects and an easily navigable website has got me adding this site to my favourites.
What’s also nice to see is that the site documents Mr Bouska’s rise to fame and notoriety through magazine interviews and higher profile jobs. Well done him, please keep carrying on
The Bad – Electrosmog
The Independent recently wrote about the harmful effects of mobiles, wifi, laptops, power lines, just about everything with a cable on nature and wildlife. Apparently bees can change the polarity of their antennae to help navigate using the earth’s magnetic field, so a man-made matrix of magnetic fields which is getting stronger every day means that the birds and the bees are getting more lost every day, so not eating, not reproducing and dieing out, bummer :S … heehee Dr Warnke
The Ugly – Romanians think Gays should be punished
It started with tinkywinky being banned from Poland for being gay, now it seems Romanians are equally as upset about gays in their country. Homosexuality was only decriminalised in 1996 in Romania, and only 11% of survey-takers said they would accept same-sex marriages. Police had to protect the Romanian Gay Pride march this year, but i guess the upside is that Romania *had* a gay pride march. Thankyou pinknews.
The Queen – Archbishop Desmond Tutu
ok, so Desmond Tutu isn’t a ‘queen’, but he’s on our side, or at least, not against us. In Tutu’s speech at a charity conference in London, he said that ‘what appears to be an obsession with human sexuality is making God weep’ and ‘it is not a matter of theology, but one of justice…I can’t sit and be quiet when people are being clobbered for being something [about] which they can do nothing.’ and in conclusion ‘I oppose homophobia’.
Cheers Des, you’re a dude. and cheers pinke.biz
