Iris Robinson part 2

I’m overwhelmed. We truly have some inciteful and ariticulate people reading our little site. I hate to do ’shout-outs’ but I would like to thank everyone who left a beautifully eloquent comment, and also shout ‘boo’ at you over and over for putting me to shame.

Therefore, I sort of feel inadequate to the task of composing a letter to Ms Robinson, which in all honesty will go straight in the bin. Letters are good, but actions are better. I’m still in process of composing the letter but in the meantime I’m conscious that it may not do any good.

So, think people. How can we create enough of a stink that Robinson (and others like her) will sit up and take notice? I want to be childish and post porn to her, but I know there are better ideas than that out there.

So far my only idea is a Fathers For Justice-esque super hero themed protest, but I’m not keen on scaling heights.

Stay tuned for the letter, but if this all makes you angry enough to do something about it, then let us all know.

Excellent thoughts everyone. The letter is still in progress I'm afraid what with work and then two days off sick with all manner of horridness.

I was having a look on facebook groups to see what others have done and one gentleman also contacted his local MP Lady Sylvia Herman (word on the street is that she has lovely legs) so it may be an idea to send a letter to our local MP Patricia Hewitt listing concerns and possibly enclosing the letter that you have sent to Iris.

I just did a bit of light research into the two main Unionist parties. One allows this mad woman a platform for hate speech, and the other is explicitly allied with the Tories. I'm glad I'm not a Unionist in NI. I'd never vote again.

There is a protest march outside the Belfast city hall to get her fired on thursday this week which I think I'm attending. There is alot of public feed back here which is good as we not just lying back and taking it, she has awoken the N.ireland gay fury! lol so more ppl are discussing bigotry in N.I and so on which is good in a way she has shot herself in foot.

I think Peter Tatchell's approach (as outlined in yesterday's Guardian p.9) of pointing out that Unionist icon William of Orange is widely thought to have taken male lovers is the best so far.

I think there is very little extra we can do, too much and we look like the crazy sinner devil workers they want us to be.

A letter sent to her and then to various newspapers show that we are not willing to sit back and be talked to like bitches.

Events like Pride also come with alot more meaning than most people believe, and going enjoying ourselves is probably one of the best ways to get up Iris's nose.

As for changing their actual opinion, I think that will take a hit to the head and then a complete personality change, I cant help but feel there is no hope in making the closed minded older generations more accepting, cant teach an old dog new tricks and all that.
